new york city lovin'

We decided that we needed to get out and truly experience life on the east coast, other than killing bugs and answering phone calls. We planned a full day in New York City, we were all pretty excited. :) We left early Sunday morning and jumped on the train to head to Penn Station.
We may be half awake but we're pretty pumped. :)
Once we finally got there, we decided to head to Central Park first, before we jumped on our tour bus that would take us around the city.
We were a bit in shock but so happy. :)
We walked to Central Park, on the way there we were stopped by many tour bus & bike people who wanted us to buy something from them. They were super annoying and towards the end we weren't as nice as we should have been. :) After our little walk to Central Park we walked around for a bit and snapped some pictures.
And, we just had to fulfill Andie's life long dream...hammock in Central Park! She set it up real quick, we all took a turn taking a picture and then took it down. We were worried we would get in trouble. :)
Finding the Manhatten Temple was next on our list. I hope to make it here sometime this summer and do baptisms. We did go inside and go downstairs to find the bathroom (that's where the chapel is), it is beautiful!

We trudged back to Times Square where we could hop on our tour bus and really start our day. I personally really enjoyed the tour bus! It was much nicer than trying to navigate ourselves everywhere and try to make it everywhere on our list in that one day.
Our first big stop was the Empire State Building. That was amazing! We went up to the 86th floor to the lookout of the city.
They stuff as many people as possible into the elevators I'm pretty sure. :)
the city
You might want to click on this picture. Look at Cassie's shirt. She's part of the city!! :) I was wearing a light green shirt and it was changed too. It happened because the back ground of the picture was originally green and then the Empire State building was later added...if that made sense?
On our tour bus again! We passed the 9/11 memorial and the tour guide was actually in a building right next to the twin towers, it was really cool to hear his story and how it affected him.
I do believe he said this was the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere?
Lady Liberty was our next stop. We boarded the ferry and were off to Liberty Island. We weren't all feeling the greatest so luckily this first ferry ride no one got sick. ;)

over looking New York City.
Since we all were kinda exhausted and had a head ache, we decided a quick little nap was best! A couple walked by, starred at us, and said something in some language. They were probably just jealous. :)
You could say we love chacos. They helped us get through our long day! :)
The pictures stop there...the line for the ferry on the way back was an hour. Poor Andie got sick on the way back on the ferry, and then from then on out still just wasn't doing all that well. :( We finished our tour on the bus and headed back to Penn Station. We hoped to make it to the 7 o'clock train but we were cutting it pretty close. We got there just in time, and we were finally on our way home. I never imagined how smelly NYC would be. One minute I could smell some kind of poopy diaper then the next it was like a cologne smell. :) haha. Let's just say that New York City is much better than spending the night with Netflix!!
Now we're looking forward to our other trips...Philly, D.C., you know the works. :)
