1. I carry pepperspray with me just about everywhere I go. :) I'm kind of a paranoid person. haha.
2. If I had a million dollars and I could do anything in the world, I would go on many humanitarian trips! I love serving others and seeing how happy they are because of what I've helped them with.
3. I am a chocolate addict. It's not healthy because diabetes runs in my family, I'm getting that under control! :) haha.
4. I love the fair!! It's my favorite part of the year. It's next week! This is my last year, which really makes me sad. Nothing quite like the county fair. :)
5. I am most definitely naming one of my daughters 'Luci.' I love that name, we'll see when I cross that bridge if it actually happens. ;)
6. I've never highlighted/dyed my hair. In the summer it gets super light with blonde streaks, and in the winter it becomes a dark brown. :)
Not the greatest examples, but on the left this was in May...pretty dark I think. :) On the right this is last August with Wy at the fair (it's almost here!!!). |
8. I'm a quoteaholic. :) I love quotes! My bedroom door is full of them, a certain favorite right now is:
9. I love shoes. Clothes. Anything that requires shopping, actually!!
10. I memorize dates. For example, I got my wisdom teeth out last summer on June 22. I fainted in seminary on January 7. I remember finishing the Book of Mormon on May 23, 2010. Laurel Retreat (two years ago) was on March 10, 2011. Yeah, I'm silly. :)
11. I love to learn. Anything really, but especially the gospel. I would study it all day if I could. It's amazing and I love the sweet, peaceful feeling I receive in doing so.
12. I'm OCD, things must be organized! :) In my closet my clothes must be hung up in color coordination. That happens with my shoes as well, black is at the bottom, white at the top. And I'm that way with many other things. :)
13. My favorite color is purple, my favorite season is summer, my favorite candy bar is kit-kat, my favorite day of the week is Sunday! :)
14. Some think I'm crazy because I believe this. But, after different experiences I 100% agree with Brother Salmond that when I feel the spirit I get weak. I don't know if that is why I fainted in January, but I have had different experiences that when I feel the spirit strongly I get weak and my knees (oddly enough, yes my knees) ache. I'll share a quick story about what happened on May 7, third tri (yes, I memorized that date too!:). I'm just copying and pasting from my journal, so don't judge. :) ...Someone wrote on a paper that they weren't sure that God was real. Brother Salmond opened it up for everyone to testify and answer this person's question. I immediately knew that I needed to get up, so I did. I just kind of gave a general testimony, talking about how I've seen many miracles in my life. I was going to go sit down and he asked me to stay up there and 'make it real' and reminded me to bend my knees. :) I then started crying and I shared the whole rooster incident and facial palsy story. I was finally able to sit down and I just felt weird. My knees ached and I felt funny. The rest of the hour people got up and testified about how God is real. It was amazing and the spirit was so strong!! After class was over it hurt so much to just stand up. I walked to my next class and with about thirty minutes left I knew that I had to go to talk to Brother Salmond (it was his prep hour). I felt weird and I really wanted to ask him why he thought that this was happening. We talked for a long time, he didn't know about the whole rooster story so I shared bits of that with him. He told me that he could see I wasn't feeling good and that he was going to come and 'stabilize' me, I don't know how he can tell when I'm 'overcome with the spirit,' but he can! haha. We had recently had a lesson on the spirit and the body and how they are clashing and the spirit should always be in control. He told me how my body is weak...I was confused and told him how in my patriarchal blessing it told me how I had a strong body to prepare me for something etc. He told me how yes, my body is strong, but my spirit is stronger. My spirit is taking over, which is very, very good. :) I noticed that the bell was going to ring so I told him I better go and he told me that he would walk me back to class. I protested but he wouldn't stop! It was funny, we had a good chat all the way back to Mountain Crest. :)...
15. I've had stitches ten times, broken a bone once, had seven surgeries, and seen many miracles in my lifetime!!
16. I've never been pulled over! Don't worry, I just knocked on wood.
17. I'm sure everyone already knows this, but I love my munchkins!!! So so so much. They are my world!
The twins only get the biggest picture because there are two of them! :) Not because they're my favorite. |
18. Some things that have made this 18th birthday the best yet?!
- Amber, Taya and I did this (only instead of 38 we did 18:). It was so fun! A few of my personal favorites that we did were: taking donuts to the police station, taking some cinnamon rolls to the firefighters, visiting with an elderly lady who we didn't know, and giving random children $1 so they could buy some treats at the grocery store. It really was all so wonderful, though!! Best birthday celebration EVER!
- Night games tonight! I haven't played those for so long, they're a favorite. :)
- So many sweet texts, phone calls, visits and messages from family and friends wishing me a happy birthday. Thank you, everyone!!
This past year of my life has been fabulous. I'm so excited for this next year and to see where life will take me!! Now the countdown can really begin for when I can become 'Sister Izzy!' :) I'm so blessed and am so grateful for the wonderful life I've been given!!!
