I've come to a sad realization. I'm moving on from Young Womens! I've honestly never really thought about that until this past weekend.
About two months ago I was sitting in a presidency meeting and we were planning our activities. A Book of Mormon read-a-thon was brought up...it sounded like a ton of work to me and reading the whole Book of Mormon in two days?! Crazy. But, we talked more about it and I brought up an idea that we would have speakers for different sections of it rather than just read every single verse. My leaders and the other counselors liked it so we decided to start planning it. These were some stressful months with all the different assignments and planning; I can now say that it was definitely worth it!!
It was amazing, if I can say so myself. The speakers were fabulous, I was very impressed with each one!! There were times when we got off schedule, I got super stressed, some speakers showed up way too early and there were some quick changes made...but it all worked out. Little tender mercy, I've been sick this past week with a cold and this whole week I've been praying that I would get over it by the time the activity came around. Friday rolls around and what do you know?! I'm back to my old self. :) No coincidence, Heavenly Father truly did answer my prayer.
We had Brother Salmond and Brother Bryan come (amongst the many other speakers!). They were a hit, such great lessons!! Brother Salmond brought his sweet wife, Nayelit (prounouced Ni-jelly), and his adorable daughters, Suzi and Lucy. They are so cute, they asked me to sit by them so I made some new friends! :) They are such reverent, perfect little girls!
I became so much closer with each of these girls as I heard their testimonies and different comments on the Book of Mormon. They are each so unique and have such great perspectives; they are all such amazing Young Women!! I'm so blessed to have had them in my life and to be able to learn from them. These are the best group of girls and I'm so grateful my Heavenly Father 'planted' me here so I could be surrounded by them.
So, I'm going out with a boom. I don't know how much time I've spent planning this but I will tell you that I spent about 18 hours at the church this past weekend with these amazing people. My love and testimony of the Book of Mormon has been strengthened immensely, I love it! I'm so excited to go share that wonderful book and the joy that comes with it with others, especially when I serve a mission.
